EurTechNL Hackathon 2026
Built in 20 hours, Twin reimagines networking by creating an AI-powered digital companion for every attendee.
Summary of the hackathon
The EurTechNL Hackathon is the largest student AI hackathon in the Netherlands hosted at Erasmus University Rotterdam. The event brought together 400+ participants and 100+ multidisciplinary teams to build AI solutions in less than 20 hours.
As part of a 4-person team, I took on the role of Creative Technologist, doing the design and development of our app in the AI for Live Events track. Our team was selected as one of only 18 finalists overall, and we went on to become the 1st place winners of our track.

Ideation stage
Each team member came up with at least three ideas on how AI could make networking more fun and meaningful.
Concept Selection & MVP Definition
The strongest ideas are combined into one concept, Twin, and defined the minimum features we needed to build within 20 hours.
Product Planning
We created a Product requirement document (PRD) and prioritized features using the MoSCoW framework.
User Journey Mapping
We mapped the attendee experience from entering the event to bookmarking during an event talk.
Building Collaboration
I was working on both product design and development. Together with another builder, we divided features, rapidly prototyped in Lovable, and continuously remixed each other's work. The other members have the business roles, making sure the idea is viable through research and creating the pitch.
Final Pitch
We were chosen as one of the 18 finalist to pitch in front of the juries and every attendees in the crowd, presenting the live demo and business model.
Result: 1st Place in AI for Live Events Track
What started as a few ideas from complete strangers became an award-winning product with a “promising impact” collaborating with EventsLab.
Results
Map interaction when the 'Twin' is created. It will be able to help user is gather insights from talkshow/ presentation in the room where they cannot attend. (Made as a web-app)
